What is LiDAR?
LiDAR stands for Light Detection and Ranging and is a way of scanning surfaces remotely using a laser. The data collected from the remote laser scanning can be used to develop 3D models and floor plans of indoor spaces quickly and accurately.
Clarion surveyors are pleased to be able to offer automated laser measuring and recording of buildings using our inhouse Leica Lidar unit. Using a 360 degree automated laser scanner, 360,000 dimensions per second can be scanned by the LiDAR unit and recorded to a point cloud which is an extremely accurate data representation of the object.
Section through building to give overall dimensions, wall and floor thicknesses
External 3D can with building dimensions including heights, roof pitch and outbuildings
Internal measurements of windows from scan data
External scan and reference points where scans recorded and building dimensions
Measurements are transferred to AutoCAD to provide detailed plans and elevations
3D Images can be produced from the point cloud data
